Bradlee was born on Long Island, New York, where he first fell in love with jazz at the age of 12 after hearing George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" for the first time. In looking for creative inspiration, Bradlee began reworking popular music as an exercise. In 2013, Bradlee began to work more seriously on forming Postmodern Jukebox, a rotating group of musicians producing covers of pop songs in the styles of jazz, ragtime, and swing. The group broke out onto the public radar with their doo-wop cover of the Miley Cyrus song "We Can't Stop"

C81 was a cassette compiled for the British magazine New Musical Express in 1981 (hence (C)assette 81) and released in conjunction with the record label Rough Trade. Featuring a number of contemporary musical acts and performers, it was intended to mark the first 5 years of the independent label movement in the UK record industry and Rough Trade itself. It was the first in a series of many cassette releases from the paper, including the C86 compilation of 1986. The tape contained a set of 25 diverse tracks ranging from post-punk (Red Crayola, Essential Logic, D.A.F., The Raincoats), jazz (James Blood Ulmer), poetry (John Cooper Clarke), ska (The Beat), electronic (Cabaret Voltaire) to veteran 'Canterbury Scene' performer Robert Wyatt. It was accompanied by the 'C81 Owner's Manual', a 32-page booklet of lyrics and artwork that readers would assemble themselves by cutting up and folding a page from the tabloid sized magazine. This consisted of 16 small double sided panels, and was designed to be slipped into the cassette case.[5] A running joke throughout the booklet was the comparison of a number of acts on the tape to various periods in the history of the Velvet Underground.

"(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay" is a song co-written by soul singer Otis Redding and guitarist Steve Cropper. It was recorded by Redding twice in 1967, including once just days before his death in a plane crash. The song was released on Stax Records' Volt label in 1968,[2] becoming the first posthumous single to top the charts in the US.[3] It charted at number 3 on the UK Singles Chart. Redding started writing the lyrics to the song in August 1967, while sitting on a rented houseboat in Sausalito, California. He completed the song with the help of Steve Cropper, who was a Stax producer and guitarist for Booker T and the M.G.'s. The song features whistling and sounds of waves crashing on a shore. It has been recognised as one of the most covered songs of the 20th Century

Gramaphone records were produced in a variety of speeds ranging from 60 to 130 rpm. 78 rpm was chosen for the phonograph industry, apparently this just happened to be the speed created by one of the early machines and, for no other reason continued to be used till after World War II. When two new competing formats came onto the market 33 and 45s, and gradually replaced the standard "78". Rare 78s continue to be produced for Jukebox collectors. Lauren O'Connell is a singer/songwriter from Rochester, New York. She has released three full length solo albums and one EP as a duo with Nataly Dawn. She began uploading videos of herself performing original songs on YouTube soon after releasing her debut album Sitting in Chairs. Her first videos were simple one takes with just a guitar, but they soon progressed to layered harmonies and accompaniment, usually with O'Connell playing all of the instruments herself. Many of her fans cite her appearances in videos with other YouTube artists, mainly those with best friend Julia Nunes, as what first drew them to her music.

The Classic FM Hall of Fame is an annual compilation of the most popular 300 classical works as polled by listeners of Classic FM through a public vote. With more than 150,000 voters choosing their favourites for the 2012 chart, Classic FM claim their Hall of Fame is the world's most comprehensive poll of classical music tastes.[1] The chart countdown is traditionally broadcast over the Easter weekend, extended by public holidays in the UK, since the event began in 1996. The compilation is notable for featuring a wide variety of classical works. Pieces by composers such as Elgar and Beethoven feature alongside works by contemporary composers such as Karl Jenkins and Ludovico Einaudi. Movie soundtracks by John Williams, John Barry and Ennio Morricone are also regular features of the chart. And, for the first time in 2012, the chart featured two original works from video game soundtracks.

Two young producers, coming from different backgrounds and life styles, joined together to make a truly unique and euphoric expression of music. Hailing from the OC in sunny California, the inspirations are bountiful, and any free time is devoted to learning and perfecting our sound. We are completely focused, and strive for greater things. We put all of our mind in the studio, and leave all of our heart on the dance floor. All started from a MuRmur, just one another liking each others song; and lead to a brotherly bond with the intent of spreading the love for music and keeping the scene from going astray.

WinchesterRebel logo
WinchesterRebel
Winchester Rebels were formed in the backwoods of Santa Barbara California In the fall of 2009. Nick Hunt, (lead vocals) and John Livergood (bass) had discussed putting a band together for years. One cold and rainy night they stumbled out of their home town bar, the Maverick Saloon, and ran into Nick Fitzgerald an old pal who had just been thrown out because of a bar fight. They immediately knew he was the guitar player they wanted. After a couple of practices they started talking about incorporating a second guitar sound into the mix. Fitzgerald then asked pal, (guitarist/banjo) player James Longoria to join the project, and he stepped in without hesitation. Finally, Fitzgerald connected with drummer and childhood friend Barry Carter and asked him to join the group. He accepted, moved to Santa Barbara and the lineup was completed.

Revontulet logo
Revontulet
Revontulet was formed in 2008, when the future core of the band, Alexandra Revontulet (songwriting, vocals) and Sergey Zorg (drums), found each other via the Internet. The first line-up was completed by Yury Leshchishen (guitar) and Alexey Kudryashov (bass). But after few months of rehearsing left the band due to personal reasons. During the next two years the line-up changed many times, until finally Maxim Orlov (bass) and Dmitriy Sakharchuk (guitar), who used to play with Zorg in other bands, joined Revontulet in 2010. Revontulet played many concerts in Moscow region during 2010 and 2011 and entered the studio in June 2012 to record their debut album. By the end of April 2013 Revontulet split ways with Maxim and Dmitriy, but continued working on the album. The violin, viola, cello, flute, choir and vocal parts, recorded at Arcus Records, were finished in July. After that the album was mixed by Alexandra and Sergey, and the final touches were applied by mastering performed by Hiili Hiilesmaa (Yellow House Studio, Finland). After a year and a half of hard work Revontulet released their debut album “Hear Me” on the 26th of January 2014.

DMAs logo
DMAs
DMA’s (dee-em-ayes) is Johnny Took, Matt Mason and Tommy O’Dell – three friends who came together making nostalgic garage pop in a bedroom in Newtown. Having met whilst playing in other bands, DMA’s are three writers, three mates, three frontmen – all with a common sense of purpose and musicality. Writing a few songs together, the band demoed them in Johnny’s bedroom-studio, gaining instant attention - all before putting out an official track or playing a single show. After signing with tastemaker label I OH YOU (Violent Soho, Snakadaktal, DZ Deathrays), DMA’s released their debut single ‘Delete’ to rave reviews, with Channel V calling the band “the next big thing”, and Triple J adding the track to high rotation. With NME picking them as a buzz band to watch, Blur’s Dave Rowntree naming ‘Delete’ his Record of the Week on XFM, and the band selling out their first national tour - DMA’s have gone from strength to strength.
